Environment & Ethics

Environment and Ethics

"We believe that our growth is closely linked to that of the world in which we operate. That is why we are committed to translating the principles of sustainable development into real actions and projects, to realise the future we envision."

Working in a business, in open and competitive markets, requires continuous attention in the search for the best solutions to problems, reconciling complex dimensions: environmental and social sustainability, production and the diverse interests of stakeholders.

Doing business means making and spreading culture: a polytechnic culture, a synthesis of scientific, technological and humanistic knowledge, working together to find, day after day, a dimension of innovation. All this requires creativity, sensitivity, accuracy and passion from everyone.

These are the principles on which Hydroservice is founded and which are the guide for our future. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

A constant commitment

We protect the environment, health and safety in the workplace

We are constantly committed to protecting the environment, health and safety in the workplace.
Knowledge of and compliance with current health and safety regulations in the workplace is a priority requirement for all those who work and collaborate with us, which is why we encourage responsible behaviour aimed at preserving the health and safety of our employees, partners and collaborators.

A strong sense of ethics and responsibility, respect for the individual and human resources, professionalism but also transparency, reliability and confidentiality, avoiding conflicts of interest, are the values that guide us and represent our philosophy of life.

We intend to disseminate a solid ethical integrity and a strong sensitivity to compliance with the regulations in force among all those who work for the benefit of the company and for the promotion and dissemination of the Hydroservice brand.

Sustainability and Progress

Opportunities, tools and projects for sustainability

Hydroservice is strongly growth-oriented and constantly driven to analyse and interpret new market needs, studying innovative solutions and technologies and adopting tools to reconcile sustainability and progress.

In recent years, we have analysed and identified opportunities, tools, methodologies and projects to orient the company towards a culture of sustainability, considering a redefinition of processes and a new strategy in line with the company's objectives.

The advantage of corporate sustainability lies not only in the reduction of waste, and consequently of costs, but also in care for the raw materials used, in the treatment of employees, in the management of stakeholder behaviour so as to create a solid chain around the company.

Companies need to take action to reconcile business and society: to create economic value in a way that simultaneously generates value for the company but also for society, at the same time responding to the company's own needs and to social needs. A new point of view concerning the valorisation of the company's know-how and the reconfiguration of relationships along the value chain. Responding to the increasingly pressing need for sustainable production in terms of environmental impact has become a duty for all market sectors, including those in which Hydroservice operates.

As part of its focus on sustainability, Hydroservice joins Open-es, a discussion space open to all companies that intend to grow and improve their economic performance by following the principles of sustainability.

At the basis, the desire to create an ecosystem of companies united by a common goal: facing the challenges of the energy transition together. Committed to the same path, where sustainability is a non-competitive element through which the entire ecosystem of companies can contribute to the development of a better future for the planet and new generations.

The basic idea is that of a community engaged in a process of collaboration and sustainable development, where each company can share its strengths and benefit from sharing the good practices of other participants.

Stakeholders are engaged in a process of collaboration and sustainable development, where each company can share its own strengths and benefit from sharing the good practices of other participants, be they suppliers, customers or potential customers.

Circular Economy

An increasingly indispensable approach

The circular economy is one of the most relevant ideas for environmental sustainability, and appears to be an increasingly indispensable approach.
The basic idea is that every resource, every function, every step in the production process and in the use of a product has its own value that must be preserved and not dispersed.

The circular economy is essentially based on three pillars:

  • Waste reduction
Inefficiencies and wasteful use of products must be limited.
  • Life Extension
It is necessary to limit the obsolescence and premature death of products.
  • Recycling
The waste of one process can be the secondary raw material of another process.

What we do at Hydroservice:

  • Through scrupulous maintenance of hydraulic fluids, proper maintenance and sustainability can be seen as two sides of the same coin.
Controlling pollutant sources and fluid characteristics allows the work required by the system to be done efficiently. Failure to control this leads to problems of malfunctioning, inefficiency, and even environmental unsustainability.
  • Reducing waste, where possible, is one of the indispensable objectives to achieve greater business sustainability. In this sense, energy efficiency is a very important form of waste reduction.
  • The second pillar of the circular economy concerns extending the useful life of products. This means moving away from the 'disposable' logic that has characterised the last decades of production, and instead moving towards the preservation of what exists.
  • Effective recycling of used oil is also indispensable for another reason, from an environmental point of view: producing one kg of new oil costs the environment about 700-800 grams of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. Once again, keeping the oil in the ideal condition and then replacing it as late as possible is an advantage for sustainability.

Photovoltaic system

We have taken an important step towards sustainability by installing a photovoltaic system for energy production, in order to optimise energy production and significantly reduce energy costs.

Indeed, the application of sustainable strategies results in increasing the efficiency of business processes, allowing costs and waste to be reduced. In fact, solar energy is an inexhaustible and renewable source of energy, which is produced in the same place where it is consumed, eliminating costs and dispersion due to transport.

Protecting the Planet is not an individual battle but a collective one, where we are all involved, and every small step makes a difference to living in a healthier and cleaner environment, in a word: sustainable.
