What Hydroservice developed
The independent hydraulic unit, necessary to supply the hydraulic power supply for the control of the spring return actuator installed on the HIPPS valve, includes an 80 lt AISI 316 hydraulic oil tank, suitable for collecting at least 1.5 times the hydraulic fluid of the plant (fluid in the actuators, in the accumulators, in the piping from the HPU to the actuator, in the hydraulic circuit of the HPU).
The hydraulic unit is equipped with a piston type accumulator of 80lt in painted carbon steel and certified ASME VIII - U stamp.
The accumulator is sized to allow a full stroke with actuator oil. The piston accumulator level is monitored with position switches. A support gasket is present on the piston in order to tolerate any failure of the seal without consequences for the functionality of the entire hydraulic system.
All instrumentation and hydraulic equipment are installed inside a specially designed IP65 cabinet. The local junction boxes are installed outside the same.
